For the Mommas - DIY Natural Brown Sugar Scrub

Need a natural, inexpensive way to slough off that dead winter skin & moisture? Look no further! This easy sugar scrub can be made with ingredients you probably already have around the house. It also makes a great Christmas gift!

Materials:

• brown sugar
• olive oil
• container with secure lid
• (optional) essential oil

Directions:
Ok, I have to confess that I never measure when I make this. Here's what I do instead:

1. Fill the container 3/4 full of brown sugar.

2. Pour olive oil over the sugar and let it absorb in small amounts. I usually do this until there is a small amount of oil pooled in the bottom of the container after all sugar has been saturated.

3. Stir!

4. (Optional - add a couple drops of your favorite essential oil & stir. I usually use 4-5 drops of peppermint oil per 4oz batch. Please research your oils. Some oils, like orange, can cause the skin to be photosensitive, so using them before going out into the sun is not advised.)

* Please note that I am not a licensed aromatherapist. Please consult a licensed aromatherapist or other qualified medical personnel before using essential oils for therapeutic/medical purposes.
